Atmos Medical Sponsors Charity Golf Tournament: Honouring Jase’s Legacy
At Atmos Medical, we were honoured to sponsor this year’s charity golf tournament in support of Ride for Jase and the Black Dog Institute. This event isn’t just about raising funds—it’s about celebrating a life, embracing connection, and shining a light on the importance of mental health awareness.
Behind the cause
Jase was a brother, a son, an uncle, and a friend. He was deeply loved by so many, yet, as is often the case for those battling depression, he carried a heavy burden that few could see. Tragically, on November 17, 2015, Jase lost his battle with this illness, leaving behind a legacy of love, memories, and unfulfilled dreams.
In the months before his passing, Jase often spoke about his dream to travel around Australia—an adventure he longed to share. While this journey didn’t happen in his lifetime, his brother Ben found a way to bring this dream to life, turning it into something far more profound.
The Birth of “Ride for Jase”
In June 2016, Jase’s brother Ben Woods embarked on a monumental journey to honour Jase’s memory. Over the course of eight months, he cycled 20,000 kilometres across Australia, carrying Jase’s ashes to the easternmost, northernmost, westernmost, southernmost, and central points of the country. This ride wasn’t just for Jase; it was for everyone touched by his story—family, friends, and strangers alike.
Ben’s journey was about more than just physical endurance. It was a tribute to Jase’s life and a reminder that no one is alone in their struggles. It became a movement to embrace grief, celebrate life, and support those battling mental health challenges. Check the website out and the story behind it all here http://www.rideforjase.org/
